Michael Sweet is a Director of the San Francisco-based JCRC.  He also Chairs the San Francisco Human Rights Commission.  A practicing attorney, he is resident in the San Francisco office of the firm Meyers Nave where he heads the firm’s Municipal Debt Restructuring Group.  His practice includes representation of government and private clients in state and federal courts on a wide range of matters including general complex civil litigation, restructuring and insolvency, and election law.  He has brought multiple jury and bench trials to verdict.  Michael earned his B.A. at Brandeis University and his J.D. at UCLA.  He spent his junior year of college studying at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.  A native San Franciscan, Michael lives with his wife and two daughters in the Ingleside Terraces neighborhood.


Past Chairs

Michael Sweet assumed the JPAC Chair position in 2011, receiving the gavel from Marc Carrel, our immediate past chair, at JPAC’s January Board meeting.
