AB 1650 Passes!

The Iran Contracting Act of 2010 (AB 1650 - Feuer & Blumenfield) passed the California State Legislature tonight with a unanimous vote of 66-0. It is now on its way to the Governor’s desk. The bill was a major focus of JPAC’s annual Lobby Day in Sacramento this past May when hundred of Jewish leaders from throughout California came together to advocate for issues affecting the Jewish community and all Californians. The bill is integral to efforts to continue to assert financial pressure to stop Iran’s nuclear ambition.

The measure authored jointly by Assembly Members Mike Feuer and Bob Blumenfield was introduced in the California Assembly in January 2010.

We came together to advocate on behalf of many important issues and to hear from our state’s leaders about the impacts of the budget crisis on our most vulverable populations.
