Security FAQs


Dear Capitol Summit Participant –

Amidst rising antisemitic harassment and violence, we are taking appropriate security precautions to make sure JPAC Capitol Summit is a safe and welcoming place for all of our attendees and guests. Please see answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) below, and let JPAC staff know if you have any further questions or concerns.


Are there any concerns for the safety of this event from a security perspective?

There are currently no credible threats for this event. This is actively being monitored by multiple agencies and any change to the threat environment will be provided to JPAC and appropriate action will be taken.


Has JPAC taken any extra security measures for this event?

Yes! JPAC has taken extensive measures to ensure the safety of all attendees. JPAC has hired private security personnel, has been coordinating with state and federal law enforcement, and has thoroughly consulted with the Federation Community Security Team to enact safety and security protocol for this event.


What can I do to be more safe?

Please wear your nametag and credentials when participating in any JPAC events. As always if you see something, say something. Please notify hotel security or call local law enforcement if you see something suspicious (packages, bags or persons).


Does local law enforcement know about our event?

Yes! Law enforcement is aware of our event and is taking the proper steps to ensure the safety of our event.


Who do I reach out to regarding safety protocol for the building?

The Sheraton Hotel has a robust security team that will coordinate any response to incidents or safety concerns.


If I come across counter protests, what should I do?

Do not engage counter-protesters to ensure your safety. Notify event staff if you come across a group of protesters trying to engage with you or the event. If you believe the protest is escalating (verbal threats, becoming physical, harassing behavior), contact police immediately.
